Community cinema around the world.

Community cinema is more than filmmaking—it is a collaborative process where stories emerge from within communities, respecting their knowledge, realities, and struggles. It is a tool for self-representation, audiovisual sovereignty, and social transformation, allowing people to document their histories and defend their territories.

I have facilitated community film workshops in Austin (USA), Peru, Spain, and other regions, working with indigenous groups, grassroots organizations, and young filmmakers. These workshops focus on hands-on learning, where participants not only gain technical skills but also explore how cinema can be a powerful means of resistance and collective memory.

From the Amazon to urban spaces, my work aims to strengthen audiovisual storytelling as a weapon against invisibility—one that empowers communities to narrate their own realities and shape their futures.
